Made this comp about four years ago for my friend Luke. Pretty snazzy, I thought. If you've never heard of Tony Danza Tap Dance Extravaganza or Bear Vs. Shark, check them out. There's a few old gems on there like the Shellac song and some all around nastiness with the Kool Keith track. Be careful.
NOTE: there's a high likelihood that the order of the songs will be mixed up for you. So if you want the added health benefits, I'd highly suggest re-ordering them in your media player.
This is the first of many comps I've made for my friend Ben that I'll share. Like I said in a previous post, some things keep reappearing in my comps. Ahh, the phases we get into. I'd make several comps at one time and think, "Gee...this person would like (so and so) as well."
I can't seem to make a comp without tossing on one of my staples; many times that is The Pixies, Frank Zappa or something of the sort.
It's funny to look back and see instances of songs reappearing on comps I've made for different people. I made this one for my girl Shayna on her birthday, obviously. Over the years we've swapped an undeterminable amount of tapes, cds and mp3s...and more in the future, I hope.
I wish like hell I had saved all of the comps I've created over the years for dear friends and lovers. Alas, they are long gone, and most likely (not) decaying amongst the other piles of cassette tapes and CD inserts that have no place in nanotechnology.
The good news is that mixing digitally has preserved things in a more organized manner for me. Until now, I had hoarded all of my creations away in a desktop folder. Then I decided to share.
So, please enjoy these cathardic mixes that I've created for others. I will add as they come.
NOTE: Some of the folders may have multiple tracks, and some of them may have only one. The single track IS ALL OF THE SONGS. Because I am a purist freak, I have mixed the together myself so that the songs all run together in one beautiful, ethereal instance. It's not easy being OCD.
